Raleigh Robinson is a writer and photographer
who resides in Los Angeles, California. Ms.
Robinson's works have been exhibited and

decades her work in progress, titled "The
Spiritually Dedicated," took her all over Asia
and includes an extensive body of work in a Thai
orphanage. After completing the advanced
non-fiction class of U.S.C.'s Master of
Professional Writing program, Ms. Robinson was a

women and their choices. |

Understanding the camera and appreciating the
challenges it can present, Raleigh came up with
a concept. She dispensed disposable cameras to
cancer survivors and their children as a tool to
encourage creative expression. Once free of the
concern over technical mishaps, the artists
learned to trust their vision. With continued
belief that the human spirit can transcend any
difficulty when encouraged, Ms. Robinson has
personalized her mentoring to include one day
seminars and an ongoing individualized project
for women and teens who want to morph into their
creative voice. Remembering that Morpheus was
the Greek god of dreams.
Raleigh has been a facilitator at the We Spark
foundation and continues to find inspiration in
speaking, teaching, writing and participating in
all venues of poetry. A member of the Academy of
American Poets, she will continue to organize
and emcee public poetry readings. In October,
1999 she met with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
This event cemented her life long philosophy,
that the spiritual and creative are inseparable
and constantly unfolding. |
